Remembering 2011: Organization's Night

I know I said I'll write about what I didn't blog about last year.... so here is my first entry! I'm really sorry it took me a very long time to gather up all the information, including the photos, to make an entry about this. I've been pre-occuppied with school. It's true what they say, third year is hell year. I can feel that now.

Going back... I made a compilation of some of the photos of our Organization's night last year, December. I couldn't remember the exact date but I believe it was the Thursday of our Pharmacy Week. It was a fun night that started with a dinner buffet. I don't know who catered the event but the food was good. I ate a lot that night actually. We all did. Haha! A mini bar was opened after the program. I'm not sure if the drinks really had liquor in it. Because it tasted like it didn't have any. :)

Looking at the photos you can tell how game these people are with their silly poses. But who wouldn't love people who are so game, right?

Nobody does the "dougie" better than these two: Jessa and Bilog! Hands down to both of you hahaha
And oh, there's one photo below where Bilog and I tried the "suck it". It was a jelly inside the mini plastic sauce-cup and you have to literally suck it out so you can eat it. I tried really hard, but I failed anyway. Hahaha

Here's what I wore to the event. The invitation said smart casual and this is what I came up with :)

I'll write about the "Pharade" (Pharmacy Parade) on my next post. :)

Quick post: Of sleep and peace

Okay, so my body clock has shifted 360 degrees and turned night into morning and vice-versa. I've been up since 11 pm and at half past four right now, I can't put myself back to sleep. I'm just happy that my thoughts are at peace right now.

You know that feeling when everything's just so calm yet positive? The kind of feeling when you sit down and stare at an empty space and you smile because for one moment you get to stop thinking about your life and the world. And you didn't have to force yourself to stop stressing out. IT JUST HAPPENED. This occasion rarely occurs to me.

Sweet treats part 2

The food trip didn't stop last Saturday. It went on until Sunday.

P had long promised to take me to Sophie's mom. And just yesterday, he took me there. Can you imagine how happy I was after weeks of longing to be taken in this fancy bakery? But it's not just a fancy bakery, I tell you.

Sophie's Mom is a quaint little store situated in San antonio Village. It offers cupcakes, mochi balls, cake pops even breads too. Since it was our first time there we bought most of their best sellers. We wanted to try everything so we'd know what to buy on our next visit. We bought Red Velvet Cupcakes, Chocolate Cake pops and Frozen Brazo and Cookie dough mochis. We we're surprised at how cheap our bill was with our goodies. We weren't the only one surprised, even the cashier was surprised at how our orders kept coming. Hahaha!

I love love love these cake pops! They tasted really good and inspired me to make one on my spare time. :)

I didn't have a photo of our mochi balls. But they were to die for! At the price of 40php, you wouldn't want to miss that! I swear! :)

This has got to be one of the sweetest weekend I've ever had. But none of it would have been possible without my favorite boy in the world. Thank you God for blessing me with someone like him. I am and I will be forever grateful for having him in my life. :) :)

Sweet treats part 1

I had a rough week last week. The weekend was the only thing I was looking forward to after Valentine's Day. My friends and I planned to watch the most awaited movie for the month, The Vow, as our post Valentine's date. I've been waiting for this movie since I saw the trailer on Youtube while searching for wedding videos. And the fact that Rachel McAdams is one of my favorite actress makes it more exhilarating. Come Saturday, my mom sent my allowance later that expected. I was really broke and broken hearted knowing I won't be able to come watch with them. It was kind of depressing. Really. I don't like staying at our dorm on weekends. It's lonely and boring. Hours later, upon receiving my allowance, I got a text from P asking if I want to come over instead and I said yes. I went to Fort and had one of the best weekends ever. :)

P took me to Jamba Juice for the first time. I was surprised that he was willing to walk from their condo to the furthest part of High Street. He doesn't usually do this so I kind of appreciated the effort. We didn't stay long in Jamba Juice. We just ordered and left. I ordered the Strawberries wild and he ordered the Banana berry with added  Daily Vitamin boost on both of our drinks. I liked my drink and what he ordered as well. But personally I think the drink would've tasted better without the added boost. I think it's responsible for the tangy taste. I don't know. Haha

Our next stop was Sonja's Cupcakes. They're store was decorated with hearts to match Valentine's Day. Cute! Both of us were craving for Red Velvet but they already ran out when we arrived. :( We just ordered whatever is available. I wish Sonja's would bake Red Velvet all the hours they're open. It's kind of disappointing leaving without Red Velvet. But anyway, I enjoyed what I ordered. :)

We bought this one (Berries n' Cream) for Ate Alyn. She loved it better than Sonja's Red Velvet. :)

That was how my Saturday went. Wait for my next post, you'll love it. :)

Valentine's Day

I know some have been anticipating for this day's arrival. You can't blame them because it really is one to look forward to. Especially for those people who are romantically in-love. Its an outlet to which they express their sincere feelings towards their love ones. I, too, was excited for this day. I wanted to see everyone put effort to make their love ones happy. Makiki-share na lang ako sa kilig. Everyone didn't disappoint. Most girls and boys from our block shared what they could to everyone- chocolates, flowers and even cupcakes! I think this is what made this year's Valentine's Day special. It's nice to know that some people do not follow the notion that Valentine's Day can only be enjoyed by couples because the truth is Valentine's really is for the people who love each other regardless of what relationship they have.

Just like the past few years, UST was again overflowing with flowers. I was delighted to see a lot of yellow flowers today. I used to like white roses because I like how pure it looks. But now, I prefer yellow or orange flowers not because the summer season is near but simply because it looks happy. A happy flower would perfectly fit a happy girl.

So here are a few snapshots from what transpired today:

My gorgeous friend, Jaja Apostol. :)
We were dismissed 1 hour ahead of time.

We asked 3 fomer contestants of the Mr. and Ms. Pharmacy to give the flowers to our lovey, Bj Tejada.  I think it made him super happy which in return made us also really happy! :)

What I had for lunch. P drove to school to have lunch with me. It was our first time to celebrate Valentine's Day together. I think he's being really sweet. Sana Valentine's nalang palagi. I kid! :))

Don't these cupcakes look lovely? They were given by my gorgeous friend, Jaja. I almost didn't want to eat them because they look divine. Thank you Ja! :) :)

I hope everyone had a great Valentine's Day :)

Monday blues

I had quite a rough day today. The weather started out gloomy and I was hoping the sun would come out eventually, but it didn't. It pretty much rained the whole day and my heels weren't ready for the battle. I knew that I should've worn my trusty crocs from the very start but I kept thinking that maybe, just maybe Mr. Sun would be out in the middle of the day. Days like this are meant to be spent in bed, listening to our favorite classic hits (like the video I posted below) with the company of a cup of hot chocolate. My rainy day playlist usually comprises classic songs from bands like Carpenters or The Beatles and for solo artists I have Norah Jones and/or Ben Rector.

What's on your rainy day playlist? :)

Lunch at Romulo's Cafe

After graduation, we dropped by the condo first to search the net for a good place to eat because nobody made any reservation anywhere. We already planned to eat at Romulo's Cafe but my brother forgot to make a reservation. Since he was pretty persistent in having lunch there, we decided to give them a try and called them after we found their number. And guess what? We made it! We successfully made a reservation for 5! We left immediately since they're only open until 3pm in the afternoon.

My first reaction when we got there was, "I love their interiors". I seriously do. And being the photo lover that I am, I love the extensive display collection of Carlos P. Romulo's photos with his family in white, neat frames. Very classy. Their choice of furnitures and wallpaper add a bit of touch to the modern sophisticate vibe. The food was also great. You can tell that the place wasn't only designed to entice customers with their lovely interiors but they can also boast their own version of Filipino food. :)

Here are some of our photos. Will upload more tomorrow. :)

My brother's graduation

First, I would like to apologize for not writing as often as I could. I've tried writing but I just couldn't finish, either I fall asleep or I'm just too tired to type. The first four days of the week came like a thunderstorm. It felt like a crime to sleep early considering the work load we have for the next day. Our days were bombarded with quizzes and practicals. Add the depressing results of some of our tests from last week. I was on a roller coaster of emotions. But thank God for people like my friends and my boyfriend who make everything bearable for me. I feel truly blessed. :)

Today, February 11, 2012, my brother graduated from his 3-year course in De La Salle College of Saint Benilde. He graduated Bachelor of Arts in Music Production. I couldn't be more proud. And it's not only about the fact that he graduated but because he went all the way to choose what he really loves despite everyone's disapproval. He was brave enough to take the risk because he really knows what makes him happy. I think that's something.

I had to excuse myself from our two hour lecture in Pharmacognosy to see my brother march. I think it was one of the best legit excuses I've ever given my prof since I seldom listen attentively to her. Haha! Halfway through the ceremony, my brother Kyle and I we're complaining how hungry we were. To tell you the truth we we're also really bored. I forgot that I had put my touch inside my bag's pocket so I sat there watching the whole ceremony, listening as everyone's name gets called and wishing my touch was there (when it actually were). Btw, the Magna Cum Laude gave a wonderful speech. One of the phrases I remember so well from her speech was, "who we are is God's gift to us and who we become is our gift to God..." Makes sense, right?

Looking back I think it's everyone's turn down that made him a stronger person. As far as I know he is on his 2nd film score now. The first film score he made was Lauren Young's indie film Tahanan. We're all so proud of him. I know God is too :)

Last Friday Night Part 2

After dinner we headed to CenterStage where the rest of our friends are. Food was served shortly after we arrived and it saddened me that I only get to eat 1 stick of barbecue (which was really good) because we we're still full from our dinner at Italianni's. At the first few minutes they were playing a number of mellow songs and when we started singing Avril Lavigne's Complicated the night began.

I don't want to go into details of what happened last night. It's not like I got drunk or whatever. Actually, Bj, Ly and I left early but we dropped by Bubble Tea for milk tea before going home. I have no photos for that, though, since my camera's memory is full already.

It was a well spent night. I hope to have more of these for this year.  Sequel to this night would totally be awesome.

Warning: Photo vomit

All photos were grabbed from Angelica Dominguez' album. :)
